Over the years, the scientific interests of Maria Fittipaldi are set in an interdisciplinary context that ranges from the instrumental development to biophysics, biochemistry, and condensed matter physics. Specifically she has mainly employed multifrequency EPR spectroscopy in continuous and pulsed mode to deeply study systems of biological and physical interest as proteins, semiconductors, and nanomagnets. She has gained knowledge on how to complete and deepen the results of the EPR characterization with many other complementary techniques of characterization for soft and condensed matter (magnetic, of imaging, raman spectroscopy). In more recent years, she is employing also Mössbauer spectroscopy for the characterization of magnetic materials, Fe-based systems, and proteins. She has cultured many valuable collaborations.
She is author of 44 publications in scientific journal (H-index 15).
