Born in 1975, she graduated in Physics in 1999 at the University of Pisa with a thesis on the development of a very high field and frequency EPR spectrometer operating at 240 and 316 GHz. Then she moved to the Molecular and Nano optics group at the University of Leiden, where she got her PhD in 2004, with a thesis of the title ‘The Electronic Structure of Copper Sites in Proteins. A Pulsed and High-Field Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Study’. During the PhD, she was teaching assistant for the courses of Quantum Mechanics 1 and Quantum Mechanics 2 for Physics students.

In 2005, she was Post Doc at the Department of Physics of the University of Antwerp. In 2005, she moved to the Laboratory of Molecular Magnetism of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Florence with a grant founded within the program named ‘rientro dei cervelli’.

Since 2005, she was lecturer of Physics at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Florence.

In 2011, she became researcher at the University of Florence. From 2015 to 2018, she was lecturer of the course of Physics II for bachelor's degree students of Chemistry. Since 2019 she is teacher of the course Lab of Physics I for bachelor's degree students of Physics.

In 2022, she became associate professor at the University of Florence.

Since 2015, she is responsible of the Mössbauer and EPR laboratories at the Department of Physics and Astronomy.

She is author of more than 50 publications in scientific journal (H-index 21).
