X-rays techniques

X-ray Diffraction:

The LaMM laboratory participate to the CRIST (Centro Interdipartimentale di Cristallografia) and has access to the following instruments:


Single-Crystal Diffractometer

XcaliburPX Ultra system Oxford Diffraction

Xcalibur platform with Enhance Ultra X-ray source (Cu), 4 circles goniometer with K-geometry, Onyx CCD camera, and liquid nitrogen cryostat Cryostream 700 operating in the 100-400 K temperature range.

 

Single-Crystal Diffractometer

Xcalibur3 Oxford Diffraction

Xcalibur platform with Enhance X-ray source (Mo), 4 circles goniometer with K-geometry, Sapphire 3 CCD detector, cryostram 600 working in the 100-400 K temperature range, and Helijet working in the 15-100 K temperature range.

Powder diffractometer

Bruker D8 Advance

Operating with an Cu X-ray source, and a Theta-Theta goniometer with a Bragg-Brentano geometry.

Equipped with a device for diffraction of thin film at high (300-1800 K) and low (100-300 K) temperature.

 

Powder diffractometer

Bruker New D8 Da Vinci

Operating with an Cu X-ray source, a Theta-Theta goniometer, a flat and a Eulero Cradle sample holder.

Equipped with a device for SAXS measurements and a focusing system for mapping analysis.

 

High resolution MicroTomography

Micro-CT SkyScan 1172

Operating with a W X-ray source (20-100 KV) and a 0.5 micron spot; maximum sample size of 27 mm in single scan mode and 50 mm in offset-scan mode.

 

Fluorescence Diffraction:

Wavelength Dispersion X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer

WDXRF RIGAKU ZSX Primus II

Equipped with a 4kW X-ray generator, target Rh. Analysis of elements from Be to U. Crystal for ultralight elements analysis (B, C, N, O). Tool for 0.5mm resolution mapping (max diameter to be anaysed 38mm), tool for liquid and athmosphere micro-powder analysis in air or helium. Software for standardless analysis.
