Projects funded by the Italian Government

The Italian Governement has 2 main funding sources: PRIN and FIRB calls. PRIN (Progetti di Ricerca di Interesse Nazionale) are projects considered of national interest, funded for three years. The FIRB (Fondo per gli Investimenti della Ricerca di Base) is a fund for investment in basic research and it has been created for promoting the cultivation of knowledge.

The LaMM group have been funded for the following projects:

  • FIRB – PROGRAMMA "FUTURO IN RICERCA”: NANOPLASMAG - Materiali magneto-plasmonici nanostrutturati: dalla nano-ingegneria alla plasmonica attiva - NANOPLASMAG - Functional NANOstructured MAGneto-PLASMonic Materials: From Nanoengineering to Active Plasmonics - RBFR10OAI0.
New challenges in molecular nanomagnetism: from spin dynamics to quantum-information processing
  • PRIN 2015 Quantum Coherence in Nanostructures of Molecular Spin Qubits, R. Sessoli

Furthermore, in 2015 LaMM has been funded in the framework of a patnership between the Italian Economical Development Ministery and ENEA on the research on the electric system, with the project “INDIVIDUAZIONE DELLE PROPRIETA MAGNETICHE E DESIGN DEI MATERIALI PER APPLICAZIONI CATALITICHE AD ELEVATA EFFICIENZA” (Identification of magnetic proprieties and material design for high efficiency catalysis applications) with the goal to study magnetic catalysts with high activity to increase the energy efficiency of productive processes in the chemical industry.
